DMing My first 4e Game
Last Thursday I spent some time running a "quick" introduction to Dungeons & Dragons 4th Edition, Having had the opportunity to play test the game made the experience a lot less painful than it could have been. I took some time to help prepare the players. I had spent the previous week catching up with friends who wanted to try out the game and building their characters and making power cards for them. Most of whom had very little Pen and Paper experience, so this was a good litmus test to the system to see how quickly new people could catch on to the complicated system.
It was a big hit!!! Even though I had only prepared a very linear (and very rough) storyline it was interesting enough to keep the players involved. I only planned one puzzle and two encounters, but we kept playing well beyond that. Before we knew it we had played for six hours and people can't wait to see what happens next.

People picked up on the basic game play fairly quickly especially with the use of the power cards (that Stephen Radney McFarland introduced me to). While they are far from experts on the ins and outs of the game I am very excited to run a campaign for people who are enthusiastic to play.
